I have started this work in Open Canvas where the most of the organic background was done. My idea was to make a fantasy/scifi like illustration with some 3d element. I also wanted to make the 3d element to look like a part of this 2d-artwork. In that way that it would not look too much 3d. I have made some color changes, more painting and composition later in Photoshop. I made in 3d-element of nanovirus Cinema 4D. There are some separate passes rendered of nanovirus for example shadow and diffusion. However most of this work is 2d.
